What is Missions To Military?

Missions To Military, Inc. is a by faith Christian organization that works through local churches and along side "born again" Chaplains to win and to disciple men and women in the Armed Forces of our world today for our Lord Jesus Christ.  For more information click here or on the History tab on our home page.

Are your missionaries serving as Chaplains in the military?

No, our missionaries are full-time, by-faith, local church supported and sent men and women who have a burden for our men and women in uniform.  They may be serving in the Military Reserves, but most are retired or no longer affiliated with active military service.  We have MTM Associates serving in various locations who may be on active duty still, but these are not Center Directors or full-time missionaries with MTM.  Please contact MTM for further information on these Associates.

What is a Military Christian Center?

A Military Christian Center is a "home-away-from-home" for servicemen and women as well as their dependents.  It is not a local church, but rather an outreach of a local church or churches that seeks to touch the lives of military personnel.  It is a place that says, "We care about you" and it says it in a big way.  Come visit one of our Centers sometime and see first hand how God is using MTM to reach the hearts of these young men and women for Christ.

How does a Military Christian Center work?

The "Center" as they are often called is a place that is setup like a home.  We use home cooked meals, fun and warm fellowship to touch the hearts of servicemen and women.  They enjoy the fun activities around the Center and stay for Bible studies.  We encourage them along with the Spirit's leading to receive Christ as their Lord and Savior if they do not know Him and then we seek to help them grow in their faith once they do know Him.  We take them to church or encourage them to attend a good Bible believing church of their own choosing.  Many get excited about serving the Lord, get very involved in their local church and many go off to Bible college and full-time ministry.  We see today's military men as tomorrow's pastors and missionaries to help fulfill God's plan of world evangelism through 2 Timothy 2:2.

What about your connection to a local church?

We are an extension of the local church ministry.  All of our missionaries are members of local Bible believing churches and are encouraged to be active members with some limitations based on the scope of our work.  All who attend our Centers are also encouraged to attend and join local Bible believing churches.  The Center is closed during normally scheduled church functions such as Sunday A.M. and P.M. worship and Wednesday evening activities.  Church membership, attendance and involvement are all requirements of our MTM Discipleship Program.

Are your Centers located on military bases?

No, our Military Christian Centers are totally funded by the gifts of people who care about our ministry to the military personnel.  We receive no government funding and our facilities are located on private property owned, leased or operated by MTM, Inc.  These ministries are not regulated by any government body other than being subject to the laws of the land like any local church or individual would be.

What is the MTM Discipleship Program?

The MTM Discipleship Program is an intense Bible study program that helps a serviceman or woman become firmly grounded in their faith in Christ alone.  It teaches these men and women to be able to give a defense of their faith and become effective "fishers of men."  The average person who applies themselves can complete the course in approximately two years.  In this time they will memorize many verses, read various excellent Christian books and be challenged to take a firm stance to live holy, set apart lives.  It also prepares them for Bible college and a life that really wins!

How can my church or I support MTM?

Our greatest need is your prayers.  We are in a spiritual warfare and need you to pray for us.  We also encourage people to financially support us through their local church; however, if you desire to directly support MTM then you can do so by sending that support to MTM Headquarters and designating it to the Missionary or Ministry location of your choice.  All gifts are tax deductible.  Furthermore, for those who wish to send support while online they can do by clicking on the Donations tab.  Some who already participate in the Combined Federal Campaign or CFC program at their government job are encouraged to designate Missions To Military's International giving number (#10074).   Missions To Military, Inc. partners with Safe Harbor Christian Foundation , which is a professional Christian organization dedicated to helping people with planned charitable giving.  We would be glad to be of service to you. 

How can I become a part of the ministry of MTM?
